Hello, I'm having trouble with my left taillight not working. Brake lights work, blinker works, no taillights on that side. The bulb burned out light is lite on my dash. My son said it was a fuse, but we cannot find a reliable fuse chart for a 2015 TDI Jetta. Anyone know where a TDI fuse chart can be found or purchased? We've found several online, they do not look like my fuse box at all and of course the manual doesn't have one included. Thanks to anyone that can help.

There are just too many to list....

Both of those will have any diagrams you need. It isn't likely a fuse, though. And you can always just check *all* the fuses with a test light, you do not need any diagrams for that.

But VAG typically fuses all the left and right running lights together with two fuses, so if a left tail lamp is not working, but the left running lamps up front are (not the DRLs, not the headlights, the running lights) then it isn't a fuse.

Also, some models use the same single filament bulb for both tail and brake lights, the electronics controller just duty cycles the voltage to them (25% for tail, 100% for brake). Not sure on your 2015 if they are like that or not.

Let me pick some of your brains one more time. I took it to a shop here in town that deals mainly with VW including TDI's. He could not find the problem. He said it's beyond him, the grounding wires are hot....he said he took it back as far as he could. He hated to say it, but I may need a dealer to look at the wiring harness. Taillight is still out, brakes lights and blinker still work, but apparently the grounding wires have power. So odd, I've had this car for 10 years, almost no issues. Any idea of what to check to make a ground wire hot, I'd appreciate it. last resort will be a dealer. LAST resort. Thanks

I did fix my issue and it was an odd fix but it worked. I saw on another VW forum site someone replied he had the same issue, disconnected the battery for 10 minutes, re attached and fixed. I thought, no way but what do I have to lose? It worked. My tail light is back on working fine. Just passing along in case someone else has the issue.

Much appreciated for coming back and posting your solution!

All of those modules that control functions like the lights are little computers, so sometimes, doing a full CTRL+ALT+DEL on them (by, as you did, totally removing power and having everything then boot back up again) can solve bizarre issues like yours.

Cars are now computers, so classic IT solutions apply 🤷‍♂️

Note that CTRL+ALT+DEL is a soft reset, removing all power is known as a hard reset.
